People call me a 'drama queen' a lot. Funny how it's the opposite of insulting. I am dramatic. But I don't do it for attention. Well, I do, but not on purpose. Something inside me needs attention. The performer in me. Ever heard of 'stage high'? I get that in excessive amounts. When you step off of a stage after performing in some way and you can't stop moving (and talking, in my case) and you just long to be back on the stage with all your heart. I even get shaky legs and butterflies in my stomach. It makes me happy. It makes me crazy. I need to perform as much as I need to breathe. I even write dramatically. And it's okay.
So please, call me a drama queen. And don't hate me for it.
People don't understand my need for theatre.
But that's okay; I don't do it for them.
Enjoy the Proscenium
In many theatres there is something called a 'Proscenium Arch'. This refers to the arch surrounding the stage. AKA, the areas where the audience has the best view of the action taking place on stage. 'Enjoy the view'.

'By words we learn thoughts, and by thoughts we learn life.'
Last night I really just needed to write and I wasn't sure why. Sometimes I get the urge to push my limits and just finish something (believe it or not, that's actually a huge thing for me). So, I just wrote. And didn't stop. This will mostly explain why this is not 100% grammatically correct. Also, the fact that it makes minimal sense. Oh well.
Enjoy.
At what point do the words stop being true? Can we put all our faith in one person; in one idea. The idea that love is everything and that no one can come between true love and other things that no one actually understands? Or will we just live our lives under the impression that we’re so imperfect that no one will ever deserve us. Deserve to be hindered by us. We can’t live like this, or can we? Stuck in a bubble of disappointment in ourselves, even if we look confident on the outside. And that makes you wonder about everyone else. You know those ‘perfect’ girls with the boys and the friends and the bodies and words they speak oh, so perfectly. Are they like us? Couldn’t be. Or maybe they could.
Beauty is a perspective. When we look in a mirror, what do we see? Probably nothing like what other people see. And is anyone truly beautiful? I believe so. In fact, I think we all are. But the words that we say to make it okay are lies. We only speak truth in our heads. Our inner monologue is screaming the truth into our ear as we tell the pretty little lies. We only hear the real truth when we’re lying. This is because you have to know the truth to make the lie believable. If something feels like a lie, that’s because you know how painful the truth is, because it’s all you can think about.
And words are everything. every kind of word.
I love you
I hate you
Be mine forever
I need you
Leave
Stay
Don’t
Please
Words change us and everything about us. Maybe only I use them for everything. Some people hardly ever say them. But when they do, they need to. We need words. But they can hurt more than anything in the entire world.
Words can break us; if the words aren’t true, they will.
Enjoy.

Stand up!
So, this was supposed to send on the first day of anti-bullying week, but my school interwebs suck donkey.
Today marks the start of Anti-Bullying week, for which I am very excited.
Lately especially, I have encountered so much bullying it makes me sick. There is nothing that angers me more than somebody who feels the need to use their pathetic insecurities as a motive to torment someone else. If you find here that I have absolutely no tolerence for bullying, it's because I don't.
I am very dissappointed to find that my school is doing an awful job advertising this week. Dissappointed - but not surprised.
Numbers of posters I've seen = 2
Number of teachers I've seen wearing Anti-Bullying slogans or colours = 4
Number of students I've talked to who are even aware of what today is = 10
Le sigh.
The thing that sickens me the most is the fact that there are a lot of people out there who will use the fact that it's anti-bullying week as a reason to joke and bully that much harder.
All I can say is, don't bully in front of me. I won't tolerate it and I'll get you suspended. Not even kidding. I've done it before.
I must say, that I was rather intrigued by the activity over the announcements this morning - not that half the school could hear it, due to our archaic PA system. Regardless, the fact that they made at least that effort was surprising.
We were given a pink slip of paper with an outline of a person on it by our homeform teacher. We were then instructed to crumple this paper into a ball. We then were told to uncrumple it and try to make it as perfect as it was before.
Try it.
You can't right?
You can never fully take back the harm you inflict on a person. They will never be back to the way they were. The scars will be there forever.
If the words you say to a person have that much effect, shouldn't it be our duty as HUMAN BEINGS to make sure they are positive ones?
SO EVERYONE
Don't stand by and let people push others around. Everyone is created equal, so they should be treated as so. Your voice CAN make a difference - and it will, if you let it. Speak up, and speak out against bullying!

'I'll follow you and make a heaven out of hell, and I'll die by your hand which I love so well.'
Last night I couldn't sleep.
So, naturally, I read.
Through my various readings (I, unable to decide on one book to finish, flip-flopped through novels. From Descartes, to Macbeth, to the Lord of the Rings, etc.), I came to a profound conclusion - to me, anyway:
The words 'I'd die for you' are the scariest, yet most subconsciously sought after words in the English language.
Think about it.
For somebody to say those words (and mean them, mind you), is basically the pinnacle of love or adoration. Yet, at the same time, leaves the receiver with the determination to never let that occur. In turn, saying that they would do the same.
Now of course, this only applies to those who actually mean it both ways, but we all want it.
And now, if we want it so bad, would we be willing to die for it , as we are for so many other things - even without uttering the words?
And if we are, isn't that the ultimate contradiction?
Either way, the willingness to sacrifice the thing that makes you, you is the ultimate meaning of love.
Even the great Shakespeare seems to think so; to quote a Midsummer Night's Dream:
'I'll follow you and make heaven out of hell, and I'll die by your hand which I love so well.'

'To act is to live out one's insanity.'
A new post! How exciting.
I thought that the title for this particular post would be a perfect introduction into my blog. While I can't promise I'll stay consistent in the regularity of my posts, I can guarantee that they will all be random and most, theatre related.
Now,it would be a farce to say that this blog will be ENTIRELY geared towards the dramatic arts. Especially since I love writing poetry almost nearly as much. Music and dance are also very important in my life.
In summation: my posts on here will be about whatever is in my mind at the time.
I suppose that I should further introduce myself. Here are a few things about me:
- I love theatre (durr)
- Yellow is my favourite colour
- Fall Out Boy is the best band in the world
- Giraffes are amazing
Just a few fun facts :)
OH and Perry the Platypus makes me happy :3
Now, I bid you adieu. A mug of tea and a book awaits. (Currently, I am reading a selection of the writings of the great Descartes. Did I mention I also love Philosophy?)
Goodnight, and sweet dreams. May you not awaken to screams.
All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts.
